What it is…

Wine Over Water is an annual fundraising event for Chattanooga's Cornerstones, Inc.

Cornerstones is Chattanooga's only non-profit Historic Preservation Organization and exists to preserve the architectural heritage and urban fabric of Chattanooga.

Cornerstones serves as a catalyst by promoting the importance of recycling the buildings of our past for today's uses and bringing together the resources required to effect change. It seeks to ensure that Chattanooga's visual and spatial identity are enriched well into the future through the conscious conservation of those historic structures and public streets most worthy of retention. The challenge falls to Cornerstones to keep watch, champion their maintenance and profitable use, and when necessary step in and participate in their preservation and revitalization.

Please consider the importance of maintaining and updating the historical side of the wonderful city that we call home/visit. A total of thirteen buildings have been saved so far, including the very popular Walnut Street Bridge where our event is held every year. Although much progress has been made, there are still sixteen buildings that are currently endangered, many of them buildings that we know and love.
